Site Access Appraisal

A site access appraisal provides a high level assessment of the highway network leading to the site, including geometry, visibility, pedestrian and public transport accessibility and the principle of creation of a new access to the highway.

 

We provide advice on whether the geometry of an existing access complies with current standards and whether any improvements would be necessary to allow it to accomodate the demands of a new development. We can also provide advice of the requirements for new accesses to the highway and any associated improvements that would be required to the existing network to support new development.

 

We advise on the implications of additional slowing and turning movements on the highway at the access point and whether there are local or national policy restrictions that would make the principle of additional traffic difficult.
