Appeals
In England, when planning permission for development is refused by a Local Planning Authority the Applicant has the right of appeal to the Secretary of State for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities for an independent decision. The Planning Inspectorate is appointed to determine appeals on behalf of the Secretary of State.
The Origin transport planning team are regularly involved in planning appeals and act as Expert Witness. We understand the planning system, transport policy and technical requirements and advise on whether technical transport reasons for refusal are justified.
We have a successful track record acting as Expert Witness on transport matters for planning appeals at all levels from Written Representations and Informal or Local Hearings to Public Inquiries.
We provide Appeal evidence acting for developers and Local Authorities. Our witnesses are experienced in appeal work and professionally qualified to ensure that the best case is presented.
